Obituary for Thomas Lane "Tommy" Payne

Beloved husband and father went to meet his heavenly father on Thursday, January 12, 2017. He was 74 years old and was retired from Local 198. He was a resident of Clinton and native of Baker. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home in Zachary on Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 5pm until 8pm and continues on Monday, January 16, 2017 from 9am until service at 11am conducted by Pastor Lane Payne and Rev. James Banks. Burial will be in The Payne’s Cemetery, Clinton. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Diane C. Payne. Daughter, Anita Chaney, 5 sons, Thomas “Lane” Payne, Jr. and wife, Brenda; Michael “Jimbo” Payne and wife, Rhonda Lynn; Blake Payne and wife, Melissa; Teddy Hickman and Tommie Hickman.He is survived by his sisters, Holly Cone, Ida Mae Davis and Winnie Peg Landry. And brothers, Jerry Payne and Michael Payne. 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, David Hickman, parents, Ferd and Ida Mae Payne, son in law, Bubba Chaney, brothers, Ferdie and Bo Payne, grandson, Chandler Payne and grand daughter, Danielle Hickman. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Nicholas and Kenny Myers.

Tommy was an avid outdoorsman.
