Obituary for Marjorie Lee McDonald (Simmons)

Marjorie Lee Simmons McDonald, 91, “Mrs. Mac”, a resident of Pride, LA, died on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. She was the retired owner of McDonald Dairy Farms of Central and the retired owner of Old McDonald Cafe in Rosedale and Baton Rouge. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 9am until funeral services at 1pm, conducted by Pastor Gene Rives. Burial will be at Sandy Creek Cemetery. She is survived by her son, Charles Edwin McDonald Sr. of Belle Rose, LA; sister Nannie Ruth Morris of Pride, LA; five grandchildren Michael McDonald Jr., Jami Laing, Gina Benedict, Laurie Murray, Dillon McDonald; nine great-grandchildren: Cameron Benedict, Courtland Benedict, Clay Benedict, Brooke Wilkes, Brandon Murray, Charles “Taz” McDonald III, Bailee Begnaud, Blair Gala, Ethan Laing, one great-great-grandchild, Ansley Benedict, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband George W. McDonald Jr., sons George W. McDonald III and Michael Lee McDonald Sr.; grandson Charles Edwin McDonald Jr.; and sister Mary S. Chambers. Pallbearers will be Michael McDonald Jr., Dillon McDonald, Courtland Benedict, Clay Benedict, Charles “Taz” McDonald III, and Buzz Morris. Honorary pallbearers will be Cameron Benedict and Brandon Murray.
