Ray Oliver  Dreher Sr.
Ray Dreher, 80, died at his home in Starhill, surrounded by family and friends, on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. He is survived by wife of 51 years, Dorothy; son and daughter-in-law Rod and Julie Dreher; son-in-law Michael Leming; and six grandchildren: Hannah, Claire, and Rebekah Leming, and Matthew, Lucas, and Nora Dreher. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruthie Dreher Leming; parents Murphy Sr. and Lorena Dreher; and brother Murphy Dreher Jr. He was a graduate of LSU and a lifelong resident of West Feliciana Parish, which he served for many years as the parish sanitarian, and later as a computer mapper for the parish tax assessor's office. Ray was a 32nd degree Mason and past master of Feliciana Lodge No. 31 (F&AM). He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and deeply devoted to his family. Masonic graveside services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 6pm in the Starhill Cemetery. The family wishes to thank John Bickham for his tender care for his dear friend Ray during his final years; Ray loved him like a son. The Drehers also wish to thank hospice nurse Denise Sandstrum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Bridgeway Hospice, 13702 Coursey Blvd., Suite 5B, Baton Rouge, La. 70817.
