Obituary for Samuel Adam "Sam" Burge

A resident of Clinton, he died, Tuesday August 11, 2015 at his home. He was 71 years old and was retired from Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. with 21 years of proudly serving families.
Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Clinton, on Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 5pm until 8pm with a Rosary at 7pm. Visitation continues on Friday, August 14, 2015 from 8am until service at 10am conducted by Rev. Basil Wicker. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, Clinton.
He is survived by his son, S. Vane Burge and a granddaughter, Christina Annie Burge.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Sharon Bond Burge, a daughter in law, Shirley “Sissy” Burge. His parents, Samuel L. Burge and Annie Richard Burge. 2 sisters and 5 brothers.
Pallbearers will be Donald Morgan, Mike Morgan, Eugene Morgan, Steve Bond, Russell Bond, Rickey Bond, Wayne Wells, and Paul Barothy.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dallas Grice, Mike Souter, Travis Morgan, Wayne Mayers, John Searcy, Jr. and Bobby Hammons.
He was a lifetime member of the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed fishing.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
