Obituary for Rex Aaron Shore
Rex Aaron Shore, “Hot Rod”, 83, a resident of Slaughter, LA, died on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at his home. There will be a visitation at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA on Friday, July 31, 2015 starting at 11:30am, the burial will follow at 12:30 at Louisiana National Cemetery. He is survived by three daughters: Bernita Fontenot; Treba Patin and her husband Troy; and Rebecca Shore; one son, Joshua Shore and his wife Nicole; six grandchildren: Jennifer, Heather, Johan, Ashton, Hanna, and Sky; five great-grandchildren Alyssa, Harper, Lillian, Iris Ann, and Louis. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Shore, parents Jap and Nora Shore, three brothers, Jack Shore, Warren Shore, and Bill Shore, and two sisters, Ivy Shore and Vernie Smith. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in Korea. He loved sitting on his porch, bird watching, and his "girls" (chickens).The family wishes to thank caregivers Betty Bradley and Kim Haynes for the their love and support during his illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Louisiana War Veterans Home.
