Obituary for Geraldine Stubbs Peairs
A resident of Zachary, she died Friday, May 29, 2015 at her home.
She was 75 years old and was retired from East Baton Rouge Parish School System.
Visiting will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 5pm until 8pm and continues on Monday, June 1, 2015 at Zachary United Methodist Church from 9am until service at 10am conducted by Rev. Ricky Willis. Burial will be in Redwood Cemetery, Slaughter.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Larry Joe Peairs. 3 sons and daughters in law, Larry Lynn and Patricia Peairs, Pride; Dana Joe and Lela Peairs, Greenwell Springs; and Darin Preston and Patricia Peairs, Brookhaven, MS. Siblings, Lindsey Dawson, John Raymond Stubbs and wife, Glenda; Frank Stubbs and wife, Bonnie and Darryl Glynn Stubbs and wife, Ada. 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Leona Stubbs and siblings, Helen Crawford, Oscar Fleming “Buster” Stubbs, Jr., Tim Stubbs and Ikey Stubbs.
She made over 700 quilts and prayer blankets for those in need.
Geraldine was a 34 year survivor of breast cancer.
