Service for Mr. Charles Earnest Bergeron, of Ethel, Louisiana, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 18, 2015 at First Baptist Church, Zachary, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Interment will be held at Second Baptist Church Cemetery in Jackson, Louisiana at 1:30 P.M. under the direction of Charlet Funeral Home. Mr. Charles was born on March 9, 1949 and died at his home on May 15, 2015. Mr. Charles was retired after 43 years of service from Georgia Pacific Paper Mill. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Zachary, Louisiana. Mr. Charles enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends, family, and grandchildren, including his many extended grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Smith Bergeron; two daughters, Tonya Bergeron Field and husband Lt. Colonel Walker Field of Fairfax, Virginia; Shellee Bergeron Harvey and husband Melvin Harvey, Jr. of Saint Francisville, Louisiana; grandchildren, Mac Field, Anna Field, Elizabeth Field, Charlotte Elizabeth Harvey; his father, Charles Bernard Bergeron; sisters, Linda Bergeron, Glenda Earl and husband Tommy Earl, Evelyn Bergeron, Leila Bergeron; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Barbara Harper, Rowena Williamson, Wilma Hales and husband Bill Hales, Susan Smith, Betty Trimble, Curtis Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his mother, Ava Lea Frazier Bergeron; brother-in-laws, Horace Smith, Dee Harper, and Dean Williamson. Pallbearers will be Walker Field, Mac Field, Melvin Harvey, Jr., Greg Travis, Tyler Travis, Keith Howard, and Matthew Everett. Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Smith, Dennis Mabry, Paul Hyde, TL Johnson, Richard Simon, Nick St. Germaine, and crew members of the Georgia Pacific paper machine #4. Special thanks to Hospice in His Care, Comfort Keepers and Home-Instead sitters, and our caring medical team.
