Bolivar Lewelyn "Lew" Overton, 78, died July 23, 2012 at Maison de Lafayette in Lafayette, LA. He was a retired Boilermaker with Local 582 and a resident of Slaughter, LA. He is survived by 3 daughters, Connie Kelly and husband Michael of Magnolia, TX, Rita Wohlgemuth and husband Bill of Slaughter, LA and Virginia "Ginny" Dunn and husband Rodney of Zachary, LA; 2 sons, Johnny Overton and Christopher Overton and wife Staci Drost Overton of Youngsville, LA; 1 brother, Samuel Overton; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents, John E. Overton and Katie Goff Overton, 3 sisters, 1 brother and 1 daughter, Sandra Spencer. Visiting will be Sunday July 29, 2012 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. with a 4 p.m. Rosary at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc, Zachary, LA and will continue on Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Zachary from 9 a.m. until Mass at 10 a.m. conducted by Father Matthew Mc- Caughey. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Baton Rouge, LA. Pallbearers will be Johnny Overton, Christopher Overton, Bill Wohlgemuth, Daryl Pritchard, Blake Overton and Michael Kelly. Honorary pallbearer is Logan Overton. He was a graduate of Redemptorist High School and a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church and Men's Club in Zachary, LA.
