Obituary for Gary Dale "Cow Paw" Guy

Gary Dale "Cow Paw" Guy, 67, a resident of Zachary, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. He was retired from Jacobs Engineering with 23 years of service and owner and operator of Guy's sheet metal for 20 years.
Visitation will be on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary from 10:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm conducted by Rev. Harold Babin. Burial will follow at Redwood Cemetery, Slaughter.
Gary is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jane Pinkley Guy, daughter, Tracie Guy Norred (Stephen) of Zachary, LA and son, G. Michael Guy(Adam Jubanowsky) of New York, NY, sisters, Betty Guy and Cheryl Guy Herty, both of Zachary and brothers, Donald Guy (Joy) of Zachary and Darryl Guy (Margaret) of Clinton, LA, Grandchildren, Skylar Grace Norred and Kaylee Faith Norred and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Earl and Mattie Guy, brother, Ronald Guy, brother in law, John Herty, nephews, Chris, Steve and Matthew Herty. Pallbearers will be Jason Norred, Scott Gill, Nick Carr, Shane Norwood, David Mills and "Chip" Donald Peroyea.
Gary graduated from Zachary High School. He was a past deacon from Plains Presbyterian Church. His special interest were his grandchildren, horseback riding, teaching family and friends horseback riding and how to take care of horses. He enjoyed working cows, watching his granddaughter compete in horse shows and being the handyman for his family and all of Zeb Chaney Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Livingston Horse Show Association, PO Box. 2261, Denham Springs, LA 70727.
