Obituary for Cecil Edward Robertson

Cecil Edward Robertson, 92, a resident of Zachary, LA, died on Thursday, November 2, 2017. There will be a visitation on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary from 10am until funeral services at 1pm. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Mausoleum in Baker, LA. He is survived by two sisters, Margaret Smith of Natchez, MS and Ann Eyrich of Natchez; three brothers: Gavin “Snooks” Robertson and his wife Grace of Crosby, MS; Bobby Gene Robertson and his wife Peggy of Purvis, MS; David Robertson and his wife Billie of Sand Hill, MS; numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved cat Sammi. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Georgie Robertson; his sister Bonnie Brewer; two brothers, Melvin Robertson and Thomas “Tom” Robertson. Pallbearers will be Gavin Robertson, Pat Robertson, Sammy Robertson, Eugene Robertson, Hack Robertson, and Harley Robertson. Honorary pallbearers will be his McDonalds breakfast brothers. He was a veteran of WWII, where he served in the 101st Airborne. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Bronze Star, a Purple Heart, Presidential Unit Citation, European Theater of Operation RIbbon, with three campaign stars, Victory medal, Occupation medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and was declared a Master Parachutist with 90+ jumps.
