Condolence From: Sgt. Russell S. Brayton
Condolence: My condolences to the family. Jim was my Senior Drill Instructor for platoon 1086 during the summer of 1971. I had always hoped I could catch up with him and buy him a beer (I was underaged at the time). He was intimidating as all get out, but he was fair. We never got anything we didn’t deserve.
Once again, I am sorry for your loss, but know that he received a bunch of boys and left a bunch of men. He will always be a hero to me.
