Obituary for Gary Homer Ramsey

Gary Homer Ramsey, 64, a resident of Zachary, LA, died on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at his home. He worked for the State of Louisiana Parks and Recreation for 24 years. Visitation will be at the First Baptist Church of Zachary on Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 10am until funeral services at 12noon, conducted by Dr. Reggie Bridges and Dr. Les Colvin. Burial will be at Plains Presbyterian Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his mother, Edith Ramsey; his sister, Gail R. Girlinghouse and husband David Girlinghouse; niece Lindsey Girlinghouse; nephews Jason Girlinghouse (Brittany); Andrew Girlinghouse (Shelbi); Josh Girlinghouse (Donnye); ; great-niece Caraline; great-nephews Walker and Dylan. He was preceded in death by his father, Homer V. Ramsey. Pallbearers will be Tommy Roberts, Jason Girlinghouse, Andrew Girlinghouse, Buddy Baudouin, Joe Browning, and Charlie McKenzie. He was a graduate of Southwest Mississippi Junior College, Mississippi State University, and Southeastern Louisiana University. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Zachary, LA.
